It seems Korean wave has been attract lots of young people in Jakarta. Start from the Korean celebrities, movies, k-pop, k-drama, culture and also food. Many young people are curious with Korean dish. See this trend makes some of enterpreneur make Korean restaurant in Jakarta. It includes Mujigae Restaurant.In fact, the Korean wave makes me feel curious about Korean dish. Then i decided to go to Mujigae Restaurant in Margo City, Depok. Before I ate in this restaurant, I ever taste the similar kind of restaurant, Mu Gung Hwa. Actually, Mu Gung hwa is a supermart in South Jakarta but they have a small restaurant inside of it. Well, my visit to the Mujigae Restaurant just like bring back the memory of Mu Gung Hwa's Korean food which is very "Korean real flavour". But how about Mujigae restaurant?
So, lets start it!
My first impression when walk into this restaurant is the interior design. Mujigae is full of color on teh walls and chairs. This interiro make a fresh and young ambience. When I entered and walked to my table, all the servers greet us with "annyonghaseo" that means "hallo" in Korean. Then, the unique one from this restaurant is the way you order a menu. You can order the menu by using an iPad that available on the table. You do not need to call a waitress with your hand or voice. Just click, order a menu then all ordered foods of you will be delivered on your table. Actually, this way is so much easier.
Mujigae Menu
Well, I decided to order beef sausage toppokki and a package menu of bulgogi & korean fried chicken with rice. Toppokki is a Korean rice cake. This food is very popular as a Korean snack. I think, Mujigae is success to make Korean food taste familiar for Indonesian taste. For beef sausage toppoki, you will find, beef sausage, toppokki of course and tofu crisp. It is a good invention of a toppokki because, you can enjoy it with beef sausage and tofu crisp give a nice texture. The taste is very gochujang flavour. Gochujang is a Korean chilli paste that often found in Korean dish. This toppokki served in a hot plate which is a modern twist for Korean food.
Move to the rice package of Mujigae. I ordered bulgogi & korean fried chicken. On this menu, you will find a cup of rice, kimchi, japchae, bulgogi and also Korean fried chicken.Actually, this menu is not much different with Indonesian food where you will find chicken, beef stew, sohun and rice. But, i think the combination of all the menu on one spoon is great. You will find a sweet, sour and little spicy on it. So, if you are a beginner in korean food, i recommend to try this!

So, overall, I think Mujigae Restaurant has a great taste with a great place. If you want to hang with your friends and enjoy some Korean dish in modern twist, I think this place is good for you. Oiyaa... you can even request a Korean song in this restaurant. Cool right!
