I never expected for something sweet in May 27th. I'm so happy to being 24. So, your birthday wishes for me is only something that I want to heard about. 

Well, it can be said that birthday surprise for me. He invited me to go somewhere where I didn't know. As a nice and happy girlfriend, I do not want to much curious about it, although I can read his plan... hehehe He knows me so well.. :D

This time in my eatin’ xperience will talked about Sop Durian. As the one of tropical fruit in Asia, Durian is getting popular lately in Indonesia. It is because there are lots of food invention of Durian, such as pancake durian dan sop durian. Can you imagine the fragrance of durian combine with the smoothness of it? Ya, the fragrance is the one uniqueness of Durian that many people crazy about it. 

Saturday Afternoon...

So, in Saturday Afternoon, I decided to try the one popular Sop Durian in Depok. Sop Duren Lodaya, this durian café is located in Margonda Raya, Depok. Many people said that Sop Durian Lodaya is very delicious and so much recommended. It makes me curious about the taste of it. That day was the first time I came to Lodaya. When I came into it, I chose the second floor because from the outside, it looks comfortable with the large window on it. But, it was far from what I’m expected for. The ambience is very “hampa”, I thought that Lodaya needs music to liven up the ambience. It feels like “kriikk kriikk”. In my own opinion, the chairs and table are not comfortable enough to hang out for hours. 

Move to the most talked about Sop Durian itself. I ordered Sop Durian ketan item and Sop durian brownies. For snack, I ordered roti bakar keju. Sop Durian Ketan Item in a personal size is very small enough. So, if you want to full your tummy, you can order MaBook (large size). In my opinion, Sop Durian Lodaya is not refreshing enough because it’s very thick. You will find some ice cubes on the bottom and then durian & ketan item. Finish with spreads of cheese. Unfortunately, for me Sop Durian taste like durian with ketan item only (that's the reason why it's not refreshing enough). So, I have to wait till the ice cubes melted down enough and then I can mix them well to be a Sop Durian. It is because, if I didn’t wait it, I feel just like eating durian (not “sop”). The same thing happened of Sop Durian brownies. You need to wait some ice cubes melted down and then mix them well (But, if you like thick texture, it'll be okay). The brownies can add nice texture of soft durian. So, it’s nice to try. There is also strawberry slices and spreads of cheese on top. 

Snack...

For roti bakar keju (cheese bread toast), it’s very lots of cheeseeeeeeeee. I’m a fan of cheese, so it was delicious bread toast. You can see lots of cheese on top until covered up the bread and condensed milk. Inside of the bread toast, there is another cheese. So, it’s just like all about cheese, cheese, and cheese. Hemm, I think it’s pretty good to cure my disappointed of Sop Durian. 

For the price, I thought is too pricey for Sop Durian like that. Why? It’s because I ever taste another Sop Durian which tastier, large size and refreshing with nice price. For me, it’s okay if it’s pricey as long as tasty. But, Sop Duren Lodaya? Hemmmm…. 

Anyway, the durian is the star of Sop Duren Lodaya. Two thumbs up for the durian taste. They have the real Durian, but I do not like the texture of Sop Durian that I expected. Thank you… 

Layer cake on glass? I think that a good idea.
Actually, that idea came when I planned to give a cake for my hubby. But, I tried to find something different and easy to eat. So, by making cake on glass, it was an easy way to eat cake without a mess. You can just scoop or dig a cake and enjoy!
So, here I give you a recipe for cake on glass!

Ingredients:
185gr butter
155gr caster sugar
2 eggs
115 self raising flour
40gr plain flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tbsp bicarbonate soda
125ml buttermilk

Cream cheese frosting
ingredients:
110 gr butter softened
225 gr cream cheese
480 gr icing sugar
vanilla

Instructions (cream cheese):
1. mix butter and icing sugar until nice and smooth then add cream cheese and vanilla.
2. Mix them all until nice and soft. Ready to use.

Instructions (cake):
1. Mix butter and caster sugar until nice and soft then one by one add egg on the mixture.
2. Then, add self raising flour, plain flour, cocoa powder and bicarbonate soda into a mixture. Mix it well.
3. After that, you can add buttermilk and mix it well.
4. Prepare a baking pan and brush with butter. Then, pour a mixture into a baking pan and bake for about 30 minutes (depend on a thickness) in 160 degree celcius
5. After cook well, rest a cake then cut into a glass shape.
6. Arrange the cake on the glass to make a layer with cream cheese layer.
7. Let it set on a fridge for couple hours and ready to eat. Enjoy

Cookin' Xperience...

Perhaps, you are boring to eat strawberry in the same way like me. Strawberry has tangy flavor that only a few people love with it. So, if you have lots of strawberry, you will need this recipe. Strawberry pop tart is a nice tasty cookie with pastry dough. if you are not a fan of cookie, do not be worry, because the dough of tart is a pie crust, so you will get savory buttery flavor.

It is a nice recipe because you will find lots of flavor on it; sweet, sour and savory pop tarts. pop tart is a great idea of cookie that combined with any kinds of sweet sour fruit like strawberry.

So, you can enjoy strawberry in great flavor. Here is the recipe:

Make a Strawberry jam:

Strawberry jam

Heat a stove into a low heat. Put all strawberries into a sauce pan, add water, sugar and pinch of powdered vanilla. Cook them into a low heat until strawberries become soft and then smash it with fork until become a smooth strawberries. Once all strawberries are completely smashed, you should make the mixture until right consistency. It should be thick enough, just like a jam

Preheat an oven to 165 degree Celsius. Take a crust pastry dough from refrigerator, then roll it up to a coin thickness. After that, you can make it in any shapes that you like, now I made a round pop tarts. Mold a sheet or pastry into a round shape with round cake cutter. Then, put it on a baking tray which has covered with baking sheet.

Strawberry jam on tartlet

then, place a teaspoon of strawberry jam into a pastry, brush on the edge of pastry with egg wash then cover it up with other round pastry dough. crimp around the edge with a fork to make it closed tightly. Then, make hole with your fork above the pastry. This way will give an access of steam inside cookie during a baking process. Lastly, you can brush it with egg wash. Put it on oven for about 15 minutes until nice and cook. 

Make a melting chocolate:

Melt bar of dark milky chocolate with a tablespoon of butter. Finely chopped chocolate place in a heatproof bowl that fits snugly in a saucepan. Half fill saucepan with water and then bring to a simmer. place bowl on top and making sure it does not touch water. Stir it wit metal spoon gently and add butter once the chocolate melts well. Butter can add glossy look on your melted chocolate.
Once all pop tarts has been cooked. Cooling down it until a room temperature before adding melted chocolate. Put melted chocolate into a piping bag and then pipe it on the pop tarts as you like. Chocolate will add nice sweet on your buttery pastry. Then, serve it up. You can even store it in a cookies jar. For more tasty pop tarts, you should cool it in refrigerator and eat it. Yummy!

Roti tawar umumnya kita buat menjadi roti bakar, atau yang paling sederhana hanya dengan mengoleskan selai diatasnya. Terkadang roti yang disimpan di kulkas berhari-hari membuat roti menjadi agak keras. Alih-alih di makan dengan secangkir kopi, kadang dibuang begitu saja. Sayang kannn....

Resep bread butter pudding ini bisa jadi pilihan untuk menyantap roti sisa ataupun keras. tapiiiiii....yaaa yang paling enak adalah menggunakan roti yang fresh.

Sebelum saya membuat tartlet ini, saya melakukan riset referensi sederhana dari berbagai macam resep. Sebenarnya, resep shortcrust dan filling, saya ambil dari resep yang berbeda. walaupun beda, menurut saya resep ini menjadi kombinasi yang pas. Shortcrust yang flaky dan tidak gampang pecah dan keras diisi dengan campuran rasa orange yang lembut. Hmmm...Berikut resepnya.

Campur tepung terigu, garam dan mentega sampai berbutir-butir. Masukkan gula dan uleni hingga kalis dan bisa digiling. setelah kalis, bungkus plastic wrap dan didinginkan di lemari es min 30 menit. setelah 30 menit, giling adonan dan cetak di cetakan tart/ pie. Tusuk-tusuk adonan yang telah dicetak dengan garpu lalu oven selama kurang lebih 10-15 menit 170C. 

Filling:

1 cup white sugar

2 tbsp flour

3 tbsp cornstarch

1/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups water

2 oranges juice and zested

2 tbsp butter

4 egg yolks, beaten

Direction:

In medium saucepan, campur gula, tepung, cornstartch, dan garam. aduk dengan air, orange juice and zest. masak dalam api medium sambil diaduk hingga boil. Aduk dengan butter. 

Kocok egg yolk di mangkuk bersama campuran gula diatas (temper). lalu kocok kembali kedalam campuran gula panaskan kembali hingga boil sambil terus diaduk hingga cukup kental. matikan api, angkat. 

Meringue:

Kocok putih telur dan gula dengan kecepatan tinggi hingga mengental dan kaku, lalu masukkan air jeruk agar tidak amis.

Setelah semua komponen siap. Masukkan filling ke dalam tart shell lalu semprotkan meringue dengan piping bag diatas tart sesuai selera. Baked in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until meringue is golden brown an filling is set.

Donuts, classic dessert yang rasanya gak pernah punah ditelan waktu. Hampir setiap negara pasti punya toko donat dengan resepnya masing-masing. Penggemarnya pun dari tua hingga muda. Awalnya donat yang asli adalah donut yang bolong ditengah, namun seiring perkembangan jaman, bentuknya macam-macam. Bahkan ada yang memiliki isi (filling) dengan topping yang beraneka ragam. Tau ga sih, kenapa donut bentuknya bolong ditengah? Jadi, dulu pembuatnya membuat donat tanpa lubang tapi ketika digoreng ternyata tidak matang dibagian tengahnya. Lalu ia memiliki ide untuk melubangi bagian tengah agar matangnya merata. Nah sampai sekarang deh, donat dikenal pasti ada lubang ditengahnya.

Nah, kali ini resep donat tanpa lubang yang ringan banget, cocok dimakan dengan secangkir cappucino.

Bahan A :

850 gr tepung terigu "Cakra" / tepung terigu Jepang (Komachi)

30 gr ragi instant

10 gr garam

600 ml air matang (kalo pake tepung cakra, kurangi 75 - 100 ml)

Bahan B :

200 gr tepung terigu "cakra" / tepung terigu Jepang

10 gr garam

60 gr susu bubuk

125 gr gula pasir

Cara Membuat :
1. Aduk bahan A sampai rata, istirahatkan selama 90 menit diwadah tertutup,
2. Campur adonan A dengan bahan B, lalu uleni sampai kalis. Lakukan 10 menit. Istirahatkan diwadah tertutup selama 15 menit.
3. Gilas tipis adonan setebal lk. 1 cm, diamkan 10 menit, cetak dengan cetakan bentuk donat, diamkan 10 menit lagi.
4. Goreng dalam minyak padat dengan api kecil saja hingga berwarna kuning kecoklatan.
5. Angkat, dinginkan. Beri topping sesuai selera.

Honey Glazed:

2 tbsp castor sugar

1 tbsp honey

3 tbsp Water

Vanilla

In a mixing bowl whisk gula dengan madu dan vanilla hingga gula larut dan kekentalannya cukup seperti maple sirup. tambahkan air hangat lalu aduk hingga menjadi kekentalan yang diinginkan.

Selain di makan sebagai sajian buah sehari-hari, enaknya diapain yaaa??

Banana cake mungkin jawabannya. Jangan khawatir, bikinnya simple kok, apalagi bahan-bahannya yang mudah didapat. 

Pada dasarnya banana cake merupakan pisang yang dikuliti dan di hancurkan dan biasa disebut quick bread. mengapa disebut demikian? karena teksturnya seperti roti tapi mirip bolu. Kalau roti yang butuh berjam-jam didiamkan agar mengembang, banana cake nggak kok, makanya disebut quick bread.

Method:

Siapkan food processor, masukkan pisang, aduk hingga lumat. lalu masukkan tepung, kuning telur dan margarine dan aduk hingga rata.

Nah, sedikit tips bagi Anda, terkadang banana cake gagal karena teksturnya yang bantet. Cara menyiasatinya dengan membuat meringue. Kocok putih telur sampai mengembang lalu tambahkan gula hingga terlihat mengkilat dan lembut (don't over mix).

Lalu masukkan adonan meringue kedalam adonan pisang sedikit demi sedikit (temper), diaduk dengan cara fold menggunakan spatula. Fold mixture pada adonan berguna agar udara masuk kedalam adonan dan tidak mengempis. setelah tercampur rata semua, masukkan kedalam cup atau loyang dan oven 160C selama kurang lebih 45 menit. Pada proses pemanggangan, tergantung pada ketebalan adonan di dalam loyang, semakin tebal maka semakin lama proses bakingnya.

Kue ini terdiri dari 2 adonan yaitu choux pastry (pâte choux) (pronounced: [pɑt a ʃu]) dan crème légère atau pastry cream. Choux sendiri berasal dari Perancis. Adonan choux pastry dapat dibuat menjadi aneka kue seperti eclair, profiteroles, croquembouches, churros dan di Indonesia biasa disebut kue sus. 

Kue sus yang memiliki lubang besar didalamnya bisa diisi dengan pastry cream aneka rasa. Tekstur pastry cream yang lembut dan choux yang ringan membuat camilan ini tidak mengenyangkan. Maka dari itu, choux ini dibuat versi mini sekali gigit (bite). Penasaran dengan resep kue asal perancis ini? 

Method:

Bahan A :

Panaskan oven sekitar 170-180C

Siapkan panci, masukkan air, mentega, garam dan gula. Panaskan (medium heat) hingga mentega meleleh matikan kompor. masukkan tepung dan aduk hingga rata. panaskan kembali hingga kandungan air didalamnya hilang. Matikan api, aduk hingga uap panasnya hilang lalu masukkan telur satu persatu, aduk menggunakan whisk hingga adonan dapat membentuk untaian pita (ribbon connecting the attachment to the bowl). 

Siapkan loyang yang telah dilapisi kertas roti atau silpat. cetak menggunakan piping bag berbentuk bulat kecil. lalu masukkan kedalam oven.

Bahan B:

Pertama, campur heavy cream, gula dan susu kedalam sauce pan dan panaskan hingga simmering. sementar itu, aduk (whisk) kuning telur dan gula hingga tercampur rata lalu masukkan cornstarch dan aduk kembali. Masukkan campuran telur kedalam sauce pan milk sedikit demi sedikit. panaskan kembali sambil diaduk hingga boiling. angkat.

Bahan C:

Panaskan coklat, heavy cream dan air hingga coklat meleleh dan tercampur rata. lalu masukkan kedalam piping bag untuk membuat hiasan diatas kuenya.

Setelah semua matang, isi pate a choux dengan pastry cream lalu hias dengan coklat diatasnya. Sajikan. Camilan ini bisa disimpan beberapa hari di lemari es, jadi bisa untuk bekal anak ke sekolah dan camilan di sore hari. Yuk dicoba resepnya...Bon Appetit !

Dessert yang simple bukan berarti gak enak lhoo .... dessert yang satu ini gak kalah sama makanan penutup yang mahal-mahal lainnya....

Chocolate Pudding !!!! In this recipe I made a little bit twist...I added an oranges for the flavour...sweet n' fresh.hmmmm

Ingredients :

1 pack jelly

1 bar chocolate

1 cup of milk

2 1/2 glass of water

sugar

a pinch of salt

1 tsp vanilli

3 oranges

How to make :

1. Lelehkan coklat diatas uap air, setelah meleleh tambahkan susu cair, aduk hingga rata dan cukup mendidih. angkat sisihkan.

2. Masukkan 1 pack jelly kedalam wadah atau panci, lalu masukkan air dan gula dan aduk hingga rata sambil dipanaskan.

3. Masukkan larutan susu dan coklat kedalam larutan jelly, aduk hingga rata. 

4. Masukkan vanilli dan sejumput garam lalu perasan jeruk. aduk hingga rata.

5. tunggu hingga mendidih allu angkat dan cetak ke wadah yang disediakan.

6. lalu masukkan kedalam kulkas hingga cukup membeku atau padat dan sajikan.

*Tekstur yang diciptakan gak kaya jelly lhooo yang kenyal tapi lembutttttttt bangettt...saya lebih suka menggunakan jelly pack daripada agar-agar krn kalo agar-agar teksturnya kurang lembut selembut pudding.
